These facts are disturbing to draft age students, and over time as the ambiguities and difficult moral choices that a fighting a foreign war against an arbitrarily divided nation entailed came to light, when we were confronted with images of the self-immolating Buddhist monks, the revelations of My Lai, the protests swelled. By 1969 over between 250,000 and 500,000 participated in the Moratorium, still today the largest single protest movement in U.S. History, with millions additional protesting around the world.
