Few people know that the origin of this song was in Rishikesh, India, where the Beatles and their friend, right-hand man, and equipment road manager, Mal Evans were on retreat to lean from the Maharishi. One day, Paul had a vision where Mal came up to him and said, “Let it be, let it be”.
During rehearsals for the album of the same name, two years later, Paul occasionally sang the words, “When i find myself in times of heartache, brother Malcolm comes to me, speaking words of wisdom, let it be…And in my hour of darkness, he is standing right in front of me, speaking words of wisdom, let it be.”
