In 1968 I am twenty-two, living in London, not clear what I am going to do with my life, but trying to write, and working part time with autistic children in St. John’s Wood. Jon is in London on a Guggenheim fellowship and is the London correspondent for Rolling Stone. When Jon was first introduced to me, I was told that he once interviewed Bob Dylan at a press conference in Berkeley, which, as far as I am concerned, makes Jon famous.
