The Who rehearsing in England prior to their tour to support "Quadrophenia." The shapes behind them are a series of mirrors on which a film was projected, a cacophony of images. Daltrey didn't like it, "People want to see us." Somehow I was in the middle and quite uncomfortable. I liked both.
One of the things that was always a challenge was to try and capture a shot with all five Rolling Stones in the same frame, never mind if they looked good. In this I managed both.
For a whole series of reasons I like this photograph. Partly it is the line of the cameraman's arm as it crosses frame towards Mick's left hand. (Reminds me of Michelangelo). I love how it shows Mick playing with the crowd. I like the intimacy it shows about a Rolling Stones show.
